Programming Code

Ok, I know there are many folks out there who love to use programming code. Authors of books on building curriculum webs speak of the power that can be exerted when tweaking a website with code.
I don't know about the rest of the education world but there isn't enough time in my life to learn HTML or JavaScript on top of the other things that are thrust into my hapless brain. I applaud those code geniuses that introduced the rest of us to WYSIWYG website editors!
With WYSIWYG there is no need to learn how to build a watch, we can be satisfied knowing the time on it is correct. Drag and drop, plop in some images, type in text, add a few hyperlinks and you have a functional website!
There are many products out there to build a site with. For the monied people among us there is Dreamweaver and Frontpage. For those who don't have a lot of up front cash but can do a monthly payment there is Yahoo! Sitebuilder. Sitebuilder is proprietary and its use requires allowing Yahoo! to be your website host.
For those of us who are trying to be frugal, and that includes me, I have found that my love and affection go to Google Apps. I use the Standard edition but educators can use the Education edition.
